'Proof we live in best timeline': Why is Trump's face showing up on Obama's LinkdIn profile? White House changes display photo

White House has changed its official LinkedIn profile picture to president Donald Trump, replacing the traditional White House logo. The update had an unexpected knock-on effect for former president Barack Obama.

On Obama’s personal LinkedIn page, his past work experience is listed as President of the United States, White House. Because LinkedIn automatically pulls the profile photo of an organisation into individual résumés, the White House’s new display picture of Trump now appears on Obama’s entry as well.

This means that when users visit Obama’s LinkedIn profile, his presidential stint is visually linked with Trump’s image. The odd overlap has not gone unnoticed online, where users shared screenshots pointing out the irony of seeing Trump’s photo attached to Obama’s work history.

Right-wing political commentator Benny Johnson wrote on X, “Guys. The White House is taking over LinkedIn. If you needed more proof that we live in the best timeline, here it is. They changed their profile to Trump’s portrait. The best part? It shows up on Obama’s profile. And they’re posting Lib nightmare fuel. Into my veins.”
