A 39-year-old woman was found dead in Jeedimetla, under the Medchal-Malkajgiri district, in what is suspected to be a brutal murder carried out by her daughter and her boyfriend. According to the deceased’s kin, the woman had opposed her elder daughter's relationship with a man named Shiva, whom she had met on social media platform, Instagram.
Earlier, the daughter had recently eloped with the man, prompting her mother to file a complaint. The duo were later traced and brought back by police. A formal complaint was also lodged by the mother against Shiva, but officials reportedly told her they were awaiting court directions to proceed further.
Tragically, the mother was found dead days later. Her sister, Shobha, alleged that the victim was killed with a hammer by her daughter and Shiva.
“My sister’s elder daughter had a relationship with a boy named Shiva, whom she met on Instagram,” said Shobha.
“A few days ago, her daughter eloped with him, and my sister filed a complaint. The police brought them back and handed them over to her. My sister then filed a complaint against the boy, seeking action. However, the police said they were waiting for a court order. Tragically, the daughter and her boyfriend brutally killed my sister by stabbing her with a hammer. It's unclear how the boyfriend was able to come out after the case was filed,” she told ANI.
ACP Balanagar confirmed that a murder case has been registered based on Shobha’s statement. “We are currently investigating the matter,” he said.
Police are collecting evidence related to the incident and say all angles will be examined thoroughly.
