JAMMU: A landslide hit near Dewal Bridge at Samroli village along the Jammu-Srinagar NH in Udhampur district Sunday, disrupting traffic.
Officials said, "Debris from the landslide resulted in the blockage of the upper tube (towards Kashmir) of the Jammu-Srinagar NH near Dewal Bridge at Samroli after a massive boulder slide hit the highway."
They said traffic remained affected for some hours as vehicles were moving only from one side — the down tube. Traffic Control Unit, Udhampur, said restoration work was underway and traffic through the affected tube would soon be restored.
