Every summer, as the world’s best tennis players battle it out under the bright lights of Flushing Meadows, fans in the stands have their own favorite tradition—the Honey Deuce. For nearly two decades, this pastel-pink cocktail has become as much a part of the US Open experience as the ever thrilling matches.

Refreshing, elegant, and undeniably fun, it’s no wonder that the drink has reached cult status among tennis lovers.

In fact, the US Open has sold more than 2.8 million Honey Deuce cocktails since its introduction, according to Grey Goose. Just last year alone, over 556,000 were served, bringing in nearly $13 million in sales. But you don’t need a ticket to Arthur Ashe Stadium to enjoy one. With just a few simple steps, you can bring this iconic cocktail to your own kitchen.

Story behind the Honey Deuce

The name “Honey Deuce” is a playful nod to tennis. In the game, a “deuce” marks the 40-40 tie that keeps fans on edge, while the garnish—frozen honeydew melon balls—represents the tennis balls themselves. That clever combination of wordplay and visual charm has made the drink stand out.

Created in partnership with Grey Goose, the cocktail blends premium vodka, fresh lemonade, and a splash of raspberry liqueur for a balance of tart, sweet, and smooth flavors.

How to make the Honey Deuce at home

How to make it

Freeze chunks of honeydew melon and use a melon baller to shape them into round spheres, then skewer three of them and set aside. Fill a chilled highball glass with crushed ice, pour in 1 1/4 ounces of vodka, add 3 ounces of fresh-squeezed lemonade, and 1/2 ounce of Chambord or raspberry liqueur. Finally, garnish with the honeydew skewer and serve immediately.
