Bhopal/Jabalpur/Indore: About 250 people were rescued and shifted to a safer place after rainwater inundated areas in Mandla district. Rains battered several areas in the district in the last 48 hours, leading to a flood-like situation.
Met officials said that in the last 24 hours, Mandla witnessed more than 100 mm of rainfall. The district administration has sounded an alert. Also, the Narmada River is swollen, and the water level is rising fast.
Several districts in eastern Madhya Pradesh, including Mandla, Dindori, and Balaghat, are facing flood-like conditions as a strong weather system continues to bring heavy rainfall across the state. Roads have been submerged, schools shut, and rescue operations launched in multiple areas.
