Donovan Mitchell gave a 46-point masterclass against Philadelphia 76ers to silence a kid who called him "washed-up"

The Cleveland Cavaliers last faced the Philadelphia 76ers , who have been at the top of their game this season, until recently. With how these two teams have been performing in thai campaign, most thought that the game would go to the 76ers, who were at the top of the leaderboard fighting it out with the Chicago Bulls. The Cavaliers on the other hand started off on the wrong foot, but have slowly making a comeback. So much so that now they have surpassed the 76ers after the last, even though both teams are on a 5-3 record so far.

And someone who has been on top of this transition is Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell , who scored 46 points in his last game against the 76ers, in 35 minutes of playtime. He also scored 8 assists and 4 rebounds in this game, taking his team to a 132-121 winning scoreline. And while many had a lot of praise for the shooting guard, he had a very different motive for showing up with a masterclass for this game. All because a kid he played NBA 2K with, called him "washed up."

Cleveland Cavaliers fans have trash-talking kid to thank for Donovan Mitchell's latest masterclass

In his latest post-match press conference, Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Donovan Mitchell had a funny story to share with everyone. Apparently, his lackluster performances this season led to a kid - who he played NBA 2K with, trash talked him. The kid called him "washed up" and it didn't sit too well with the athlete. He shared the story with the press, saying, "He just called me washed up... this game was for that kid."

"I wouldn't put the game I had based on [anything that happened] on the court. This kid pissed me off today. He just called me washed up. He called me a bunch of things. But I love it, you know what I mean? He said he ain't seen a highlight from me in a minute. … I had been playing 2K for like two hours and I told him, I was like, 'Just wait.'"

Mitchell was decidedly smug about his performance and the win, and it was clear as day that he had proved the point he wanted to. "That's what this was about." He was "pissed off" with the comments from the kid, and knew he had to show up in this game, and show up he did. He proved why Spida is one of the best players in the league right now. And he did it! Bet the kid is ready to take back his words now.
