Leading telecom operator Airtel has launched a world-first AI-driven fraud detection system, designed to identify and block malicious websites across all communication platforms in real time. The solution, which will be automatically enabled for all Airtel mobile and broadband users, aims to protect consumers from the growing threat of online scams .

Whenever an Airtel user attempts to visit a flagged website, the system will block access and redirect them to a page explaining the security risk.
The surge in digital fraud has led to millions falling victim to scams beyond OTP fraud and deceptive calls. With Airtel’s AI-based multi-tiered security system, the company aims to proactively shield users from cyber threats using global and internal repositories of threat actors.
Commenting on the initiative Gopal Vittal , vice chairman and managing director, Bharti Airtel, said, “Over the last few years, we have come across several instances where unsuspecting customers have been defrauded by ingenious criminals of their hard-earned money. Our engineers have tried to solve this problem through the launch of our Fraud Detection Solution. Our AI based tool scans internet traffic, checks with global repositories and our own database of threat actors in real-time and blocks fraudulent websites.
