Vakratunda Sankashti Chaturthi is going to fall on Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Kartik i.e., on October 20, 2024. This day is considered an auspicious day to honor Lord Ganesha . Devotees observe fast and offer prayers to Ganpati Ji with immense devotion. Chaturthi Tithi falls twice a month during Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha and this Sankashti Chaturthi occurs in Krishna Paksha. Sankashti Chaturthi that falls in the month of Kartik coincides with Karwa Chauth , and this festival holds a great religious significance among married Hindu women.

Vakratunda Sankashti Chaturthi holds a great religious significance in Hindu religion as this day is purely dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Devotees observe fast from dawn to dusk and they break it after the moonrise. This Sankashti Chaturthi is considered most significant as it coincides with Karwa Chauth festival. Married Hindu Women observe fast on this day for the well being and longevity of their husbands. Lord Ganpati is the most loving God who is the first worshipped God also. Lord Ganesha brings prosperity and auspiciousness in life. People, who observe fast on Chaturthi get blessed with happiness, proserity and good fortune and he removes all the obstacles of his devotees. Sankashti Chaturthi is mainly celebrated in Maharashtra and this is the most revered day.

Vakratunda Sankashti Chaturthi 2024: Puja Rituals

1. Wake up early in the morning and take bath.
2. After cleansing, devotees must clean the house and take a wooden plank to place an idol of Lord Ganesha.
3. Adorn the idol with garland and flowers, offer laddoo and Durva Grass is important and dear to Lord Ganesha so devotees should offer this grass to the Lord.
4. Offer other bhog prasad and chant various mantras to invoke the idol.
5. Recite Bindayak Kahani and women after worshipping Lord Ganesha, they worship Chauth Mata.
6. Prepare various food items for bhog.
7. In the evening after moon sighting they break their fast and seek blessings of their elders and also from their husbands.
