According to Hindu Scriptures, Shani Jayanti holds a great astrological and religious significance. Shani Dev, who is revered as the lord of justice and karma, people receive outcomes based on their karma. To honor Lord Shani Dev's birth anniversary, people celebrate Shani Jayanti. Hindu scriptures state that Shani Dev was born to mother Swarna, also called as Chhaaya, and father Surya Dev. Since Shani Dev was a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, he bestow his blessings to those who worship Mahadev with immense devotion and dedication.

Although there are many stories about Lord Shani Dev and one of the most popular stories associated with Lord Shani is that Ravana once kidnapped Lord Shani Dev and imprisoned him for a very long period. Shani Dev expressed his appreciation to Lord Hanuman after Hanuman Ji eventually came to him and freed him from prison. He also pledged to pardon anyone, whoever worship Hanuman Ji sincerely.

• Chant Mantras: In order to obtain the blessings of Shani Maharaj, devotees are required to recite a variety of mantras, including Shani Stotram and Shani Beej Mantra.
• Worship Peepal Tree: In order to alleviate the negative effects of Shani, people are encouraged to worship peepal trees on the eve of Shani Jayanti.
• Donation and Charity: Donation and charity are the most essential part of this day, and it is believed that those, who do so would be blessed by Lord Shani. People must help unprivileged people, sweepers, house helps to appease Shani Dev.
