After playing a series of comic roles in most movies, Arshad Warsi is all set to play a serious role with Arbaaz Khan’s production Bandaa Singh Chaudhary. The film is set during the tumultuous period of late 70s and early 80s of Punjab, when it was caught in a violent secessionist movement.
The last time Arshad played a serious role was way back in 2005, in a film called Sehar. Now in an exclusive interview with ETimes, he opened up about his reason for going back to doing a non-comic role, he said , “ I’m glad I did it. It is not like I choose that I will not do these roles or do these roles. It’s as simple as finding a good script. I really liked the script and I went ahead with it, there was no reason for not doing it… I would be stupid if i didn't do it.”
Arshad also shared an update on his next project, which would be the next installment of the Dhamaal and Golmaal series . He said , “ Golmaal I’m not sure about, but Dhamaal is definitely happening, there are chances of Munnabhai also happening. I won't be surprised actually. Rohit doesn't stop, and he’s already done that with Singham Again, and suddenly one day, I'll get a call saying ‘Chalo Golmaal karte hai’ .. this usually happens and he’s quite capable of doing that .. I won't be surprised."
Arshad’s last release was his OTT show Asur:Welcome to the Dark Side, which was released three years after the first season. The show received a lot of love not only from critics, but also from fans and the demand has kicked in for the third part.
