Tom Cruise has always been known as a daring and powerful actor who tends to do most of the stunts in his films himself. The actor, on the path to maintaining that record, took another daunting step forward while shooting for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. In new BTS footage released online, the actor can be seen performing even more daring stunts.
Cruise shares BTS footage from new movieFor its final installment, Tom Cruise is all set to grace the screen in Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning again. The actor recently took to his social media account to share exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the movie, shocking fans.
The BTS footage shows the harsh and chilling terrains of Svalbard, Norway, which Cruise calls “just breathtakingly beautiful.” He also shared, “We are in an absolutely remarkable place to be able to film. It is a unique experience.”
Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning Team Shares Their OpinionsIn the video, the cast of the film can be seen shooting under extreme weather conditions, with co-star Simon Pegg adding, “If you want to shoot in the Ice Cap, you are going with temperatures that are absolutely the most extreme. And of course, the Arctic hit us right in our faces.” The region, located in the middle of Norway and the North Pole, is mostly well known for the extreme sense of living, which Cruise took advantage of.
Director of the film Christopher McQuarrie also shared in the video that this setting cannot be duplicated anywhere. He stated, “You cannot fake being in minus 40 degrees. Take your gloves off for a few seconds, and your fingers will start to freeze.”
Not only this, but lead Hayley Atwell also shared her thoughts on shooting on the icy terrains, stating that “being in an environment like that adds to the suspense and drama.”
While extreme, this feat does not seem like that big of a deal. From climbing alongside the Burj Khalifa to jumping from airplanes and buildings, the actor has done it all. To bring about a bout of authenticity to filming, the actor has always opted for performing and acting out his own stunts. His Mission: Impossible series proves to be a stark reminder of the actor’s talent and resilience.
