Miley Cyrus has released a deeply emotional new single, More to Lose, from her much-anticipated album Something Beautiful, set to release on May 30.
In an Instagram post, Cyrus explained her creative approach to the song: “On a song like More to Lose, I try to keep a singular take. Add my harmonies or ad libs at the end, but it’s really a song that’s more of a story, and I never want that to be interrupted or overthought or chasing perfection.”
She added, “I never wanted More to Lose to feel perfect. I wanted it to sound meaningful and emotional.”
The release is accompanied by a striking black-and-white music video, featuring Cyrus delivering the heartfelt lyrics with raw intensity.
Fan reactions have poured in, praising the song’s vulnerability and depth. “She bringing it!!! Give us drama baby,” commented one user, while another wrote, “Miley Cyrus' ballads always eat—this is something beautiful.” Other responses included, “Love the new song,” and, “It’s the BALLAD OF THE YEAR.”
Something Beautiful is expected to be a conceptual visual album, with a companion film set to premiere at the Tribeca Festival on June 6.
