Alia Bhatt starrer 'Jigra' which also starred Vedang Raina released on October 11. The film was always meant to be niche and a multiplex film, hence the opening number of around Rs 4.5 crore was decent and not surprising. But the way the film has begun to drop gradually every day, it seems like the movie is now being rejected even by the multiplex audience. 'Jigra' also produced by Alia had high expectations as the trailer was impressive, however, the movie may now struggle to get a decent lifetime business as well.

'Jigra' had a three-day opening weekend total of around Rs 16.75 crore, post which, from Monday onwards, it started collecting in the range of Rs 1.5 crore on each day. On Day 3, which is Wednesday, it clocked in Rs 1.25 crore hence, the total collection now lands at Rs 21.10 crore, according to Sacnilk.
The film is slowly being rejected even at the multiplexes, but since it's catering to this audience, it may see a jump over the coming weekend. 'Jigra' had released with Rajkummar Rao starrer 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' which has performed slightly better and made Rs 25 crore so far. Though, even that's not too impressive.
This Friday, one sees 'Singham' re-releasing along with 'Khosla Ka Ghosla'. With no major big releases up till November 1, one hopes that 'Jigra' and 'Vicky Vidya..' can bring in some more money. Though, trade website Box Office India predicts that 'Jigra' may end up having the one of the lowest lifetime collections for an Alia Bhatt movie.
