Celebrity MasterChef India 2025 crowned its very first champion last night, and actor Gaurav Khanna emerged victorious. Post his spectacular win, Gaurav chose to mark the occasion in a special way—by visiting Avatara, the restaurant helmed by Michelin-starred Chef Rahul Rana, who was also a guest judge during the show’s grand finale week.
The finale challenge featured a daunting task for the top finalists: recreating Chef Rahul’s complex and visually stunning vegetarian dish, Shadras, symbolizing the six core tastes—Sweet, Salt, Sour, Bitter, Pungent, and Astringent. It was a fitting test of skill, precision, and creativity.
Sharing a light-hearted moment, Chef Rahul posted a video showing Gaurav’s winning moment on his phone, joking, “I think I know this guy.” Just then, Gaurav entered from behind and asked, “Where is Avatara restaurant?” setting off warm laughter all around.
In a heartfelt note, Gaurav said, “He’s a wonderful chap. I’m happy how he’s put vegetarian dishes on the world map. Thank you for inviting Akanksha and me—it’s been a lovely experience. I’m not cooking today. I’m eating.”
Chef Rahul playfully replied, “Thank you, MasterChef Gaurav. You should get used to being addressed as a chef.”
Adding to the fun, Akanksha, who was capturing the celebration, cheekily asked the chef to remind Gaurav to cook for her too. Gaurav, smiling, replied, “I knew I’d get played like this.”
Throughout the show, Gaurav had often spoken fondly of his wife, even naming a dish after her during one of the challenges. His win brought home not only the Celebrity MasterChef trophy, Rs 20 lakh, the iconic chef’s coat, and a Bosch kitchen upgrade—but also a moment of shared joy with Akanksha.
Nikki Tamboli and Tejasswi Prakash were named first and second runners-up, respectively.
