Ranchi: Union minister of state for defence Sanjay Seth visited Jhalda in the adjoining Purulia district in West Bengal on Friday to meet family members of the Intelligence Bureau officer Manish Ranjan, who was killed in the Pahalgam terrorist attack on Tuesday.
Seth met the grieving family and spoke to them for over 90 minutes. After their meeting, Seth said, "The family has requested employment for the officer's wife and educational support for his children. I will take all possible steps to fulfil their demands." Ranjan's wife Jaya Mishra holds two master's degrees along with other qualifications. The couple has two children — a 10-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl.
Consoling the family, the minister assured them of the nation's support and solidarity in their time of grief. He emphasized that the terrorists and conspirators behind the attack would face severe consequences.
