Raipur: Bilaspur and Bhilai are set to battle for the Chhattisgarh inter-district T20 title on Wednesday.
The Times News Network reports that both teams have secured their places in the final of the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh-organised Senior Elite Group Inter-District T20 Tournament 2024–25, following emphatic semi-final victories on Tuesday.
In the first semi-final at the RDCA Ground, Bilaspur chose to field after winning the toss against BSP. BSP were bowled out for 139 in 19.5 overs. Sangeet Soni (41) and Vaibhav Sahu (28) were the main scorers for BSP. Praveen Kumar was the standout bowler for Bilaspur, taking 4 wickets. Bilaspur then chased down the target, reaching 143 for 4 in 19.2 overs. Pawan Parnate remained unbeaten on a crucial 41, and Irfan contributed 33 runs. For BSP, Aishwary Maurya picked up 3 wickets.
In the second semi-final, Bhilai won the toss and elected to field. Plate Combined managed to score 174 all out in their 20 overs, with Krish Chopda leading the charge with a fine 62. For Bhilai, Diwakar Tamrakar was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets. Chasing 175 for victory, Bhilai reached 175 for 4 in 18.3 overs. Anand Rao remained unbeaten on a match-winning 53.
