Nagpur: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is likely to announce the HSC (Class 12) results by May 9. The Nagpur division has already completed the evaluation of HSC answer sheets. Similarly, SSC (Class 10) results are also expected to be declared earlier than usual this year. The evaluation of SSC answer sheets in the Nagpur division is expected to conclude by April 16.
This year's early results are attributed to the state government's decision to conduct the SSC and HSC exams at least 15 days ahead of the usual schedule.
For the first time in nearly a decade, there was no boycott call from major teacher associations, which contributed to the smooth progress of the evaluation process. In previous years, the board had faced boycotts by teacher associations due to various pending demands.
Ashok Gavhankar, general secretary of the Vidarbha Junior College Teachers Association, said, "Talks have been ongoing with the government since last year and are progressing as planned. There was no call for a boycott this year because there was no immediate or urgent need for it. All our members actively participated in the evaluation process."
A state board employee told TOI that the board is on track to meet the government's target of announcing results early. "It was already expected that results would be declared early since the exams began two weeks before the usual schedule. As of now, the Nagpur division has completed the evaluation of HSC papers and sent the details to the Pune headquarters, where mark compilation is currently underway. This will soon lead to the preparation of mark sheets," the employee added.
CBSE Results Speculation
Social media is currently flooded with speculation regarding the CBSE results date, with some posts suggesting that the results might be declared in April. This kind of speculation has become an annual occurrence, with various portals posting "clickbait" content to attract users by hinting at early result announcements.
However, sources indicate that the CBSE results are most likely to be declared in May, as is the norm. While CBSE makes efforts to release the results early, the board has repeatedly urged students and parents to rely only on its official website for updates.
Although CBSE's major exams concluded in March, optional papers continued until April 4. Following that, CBSE conducted exams for students who had missed papers due to participation in international sports events. Once those exams conclude and evaluation wraps up, the process of mark compilation will begin.
Despite the continuous nature of CBSE's operations and the ongoing evaluation process, the sheer scale of the board exams presents a considerable challenge. However, CBSE has adopted several IT-enabled processes to speed up the workflow, which has helped in declaring results more efficiently in recent years.
