Kanpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth Rs 19,000 crore during his proposed visit to the city on April 24. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is likely to visit the city to review the preparations on April 20.
The municipal corporation has planned nine significant projects worth Rs 19,000 crore for inauguration and foundation laying.
The projects encompass an e-library in Phoolbagh, two Miyawaki parks, and several roads under the CM's grid. The e-library, planned at Gandhi Bhavan in zone 1, Phoolbagh, will cost Rs 8 crore under the CM Vaishvik Nagarodaya Yojana (CMVNY) scheme, with tender procedures completed. The PM is expected to initiate this project alongside a new building in zone 3, of estimated cost of Rs 12.97 crore.
According to the municipal sources the development plan includes five roads in the CM grid scheme's second phase. The route from Swaroop Nagar police station to the Commissioner's residence via Matka Tiraha is budgeted at Rs 22 crore.
Other road projects comprise Deep Cinema to Sote Baba Temple at Rs 33.48 crore, Naubasta Bamba to Karrahi Road at Rs 28.28 crore, Gurudev Cinema to the zoo at Rs 47.04 crore, and Lal Bangla Road to JK First Crossing at Rs 39.74 crore. Additionally, two Miyawaki method parks in wards 12 and 53 are included under the Upvan scheme, with a combined budget of Rs 20 crore.
