Itanagar: Union minister of state for road, transport and highways Ajay Tamta on Saturday reviewed the national highway projects at Pasighat in East Siang district.
Tamta took a detailed briefing from officials and stakeholders on various aspects of implementation, including bottlenecks and challenges faced at the ground level, a press release from East Siang DIPRO said.
The meeting focused on assessing the status of completed and ongoing road infrastructural projects, those proposed for awarding and the progress of detailed project report (DPR) preparation for new roads across the state, the release further said.
Addressing senior govt officials, Tamta reiterated the critical role of timely and accurate data submission in assessing district-level performance and ensuring smooth execution of centrally sponsored projects. "Providing correct data is vital for gauging the performance of the district. To push the national economy to a higher level, good road connectivity plays a vital role," Tamta said.
He also directed concerned departments and agencies to ensure close coordination and proactive monitoring to quicken the pace of highway construction. Tamta said the Centre was committed to improving surface connectivity in the northeast, especially in Arunachal.
