Sonowal unveils statue of Sati Sadhani

Dibrugarh: Union minister of ports, shipping & waterways Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday unveiled a life-sized statue of ‘Veerangana' Sati Sadhani, the 16th century legendary queen of the Chutia dynasty, near the ASTC premises in Tinsukia, reports Rajib Dutta.

Honouring the legacy of Sati Sadhani, Sonowal highlighted the significant contributions of the Chutia community. "Among the many vibrant ethnic communities in the state, the Chutia community holds a prominent and powerful place, contributing significantly to the socio-cultural fabric of the Assamese society. Their illustrious history adds immense value to the chronicles of Assam," he said.

The Union minister described the queen as a "symbol of valour, dignity, courage, and patriotism", who defended her land and people with unwavering determination.
