Akola: Soaring mercury levels have prompted Akola district collector Ajit Kumbhar to revise school timings across the district. With the maximum temperature recently touching 44°C, concerns have grown over the health and safety of students.
As per the official order, all schools in the district will now begin at 7 am. Primary schools will conclude at 11.15 am, while secondary schools will end at 11.45 am.
Schools have also been instructed to ensure the availability of drinking water, proper ventilation with functioning fans and to avoid conducting outdoor classes or physical activities. Additionally, students are advised to wear cotton clothes and use caps or headgear to protect themselves from the heat.
