Mhow: Dhar's Kukshi police arrested a man accused of fraud in an online share trading business from Bikaner in Rajasthan. He was produced in court, which granted his police remand on Tuesday.
Kukshi SHO Rajesh Yadav told TOI, "The matter came to the fore after Darpesh Neeme of Kukshi lodged a complaint regarding fraud with him. He said that unknown persons contacted him on social media, luring him with promises of high profits through investment in share trading. The accused added him to a group where share-trading tips were provided. The accused then sent him a link to download an app intended for share trading. Following the instructions of accused, Darpesh transferred Rs 5.27 lakh online to various bank accounts. The app also displayed a balance for share trading in proportion to the deposited amount but when Darpesh attempted to withdraw his money, the accused demanded more funds in the name of tax on the earned profits. Upon his refusal to pay, the accused blocked Darpesh's ID on the app and removed him from all groups."
Yadav added that on his complaint, a team was formed, which tracked the KYC details and money transfers to the bank accounts. Police then arrested Anil Kumar Bishnoi, a resident of Phalodi in Rajasthan, on Dec 28, 2024. During interrogation, Anil Kumar revealed that he opened two current accounts in Kolkata at the behest of Dinesh Bishnoi of Bikaner.
When Dinesh was not found, a reward of Rs 5000 was announced and he was arrested from Bikaner on Sunday. He was brought to Kukshi on Tuesday and then produced in court. The court provided his remand to police for questioning. Police have also found multiple SIM cards with Dinesh. Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, the SHO said.
