Established 44 years ago, Yash Johar’s Dharma Productions was taken to the global stage by his son Karan Johar. In one of the biggest yet anticipated business remodelling, 50 per cent of the company’s stakes were acquired by Adar Poonawalla’s Serene Production. The acquisition was announced on October 21.
Karan's cryptic post The news of Adar Poonawalla acquiring half of Dharma Productions’ stakes drew mixed reactions from society. While the partnership promises better business prospects, there are sorts of rumours circulating in the media about the financial health of Karan Johar’s home banner. Amid this, the filmmaker put out a cryptic quote on his Instagram stories. The quote shared by Karan on Instagram stories read, “Competition happens at the bottom. Dharma's journey has been remarkable, and this collaboration opens up a world of possibilities for creating content that will resonate across borders and generations.” After Jigra, Dharma Productions upcoming films are Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. In 2025, the production house will release C Sankaran Nair’s biopic on March 14, 2025. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday and R Madhavan.You may also like
