Even as film industry is grappling with ‘casting couch’ incidents in various crafts, several women continue to deal with it strongly. Actress Ananya Nagalla was asked to comment on the subject at a press conference of her upcoming film Pottel held in Hyderabad on Friday.
‘Never Faced Casting Couch’When Ananya Nagalla was asked whether she faced any casting couch in the industry, she immediately replied that she never encountered it. “I have never faced it,” she replied. When further prodded on the subject, she stated that it would be inappropriate to talk about such a thing when she hasn’t faced it. We Tend To Look At The Negative Side“How can someone be so sure that actresses always face casting couch. It’s not there; it’s 100 % wrong thing and I have seriously never faced it. Every industry has two sides positive and negative – and we always tend to look at the negative side,” Nagalla shared, asking how can someone talk about the subject without experiencing it. Having debuted with the film Mallesham in 2019, Annanya went on to do films like Vakeel Saab, Maestro and Shaakuntalam. The actress is presently awaiting the release of her upcoming film Pottel, which is slated for release on October 25. “Pottel has a great story and the beauty of the film lies in its layered writing,” says the actress.Ananya Nagalla’s Strong Stand Against Casting Couch Allegations #AnanyaNagalla pic.twitter.com/WsXrfi8JEJ
