Tensions reached new heights in episode five of The Celebrity Traitors, and fans are now united in who they want to see leave next. The episode opened with a shocking twist: the brutal murder of Charlotte Church. She had been left vulnerable alongside Kate Garraway and David Olusoga after last week's cliffhanger, but it was Charlotte who ultimately fell victim to the Traitors. Her reaction to being eliminated was fair and honest - she admitted she saw it coming.
But her fellow Faithfuls were clearly blindsided. The moment Kate walked into the breakfast room was unforgettable; the stunned expressions on everyone's faces said it all. It was obvious they had expected Charlotte to survive and were bracing for someone else's seat to be empty. Anyway, I can't say I'm going to miss Charlotte. On to the next mission. The players headed into the woods, where they were met by host Claudia Winkleman, who revealed that an extra £10,000 was up for grabs to boost the prize pot.
The challenge involved four stops along their journey, each worth £2,500, but with a catch: every stop was laced with traps. At each location, one player had to answer a question correctly. The reward? Not just the money, but the prestigious shield, granting them immunity from the next murder.
The four shield winners were Nick Mohammed, Lucy Beaumont, David, and Jonathan Ross, and the group successfully added £7,000 to the prize pot. But that small victory quickly faded into the background as the players made their way to yet another explosive roundtable.
At this point, the Traitors are running circles around the Faithfuls, who, once again, were left scrambling to figure out who to banish. The atmosphere was tense, and accusations flew in every direction. Stephen Fry found himself in the firing line early on, with suspicions starting to mount.
Nick, meanwhile, began questioning Kate's loyalties, noting that she hasn't clearly stated who she thinks the Traitors are
Cat Burns stayed relatively quiet for most of the discussion, only briefly speaking up to subtly cast doubt on fellow Traitor Jonathan. Alan Carr, on the other hand, came out swinging and was gunning for Mark Bonnar.
And honestly, I really felt for Mark. The poor guy gave a heartfelt defence, insisting he was one of the Faithful and you could see how frustrated and disheartened he was. As he said himself, playing so many dodgy characters in his career seems to be working against him here.
Attempting to defend himself, Mark said: "I think part of the attraction of being the Faithful, and what I thought I would be good at which I've proved myself totally wrong, is spotting when people are being duplicitous or lying. I've been rubbish so far and I'm really disappointed to be honest with you, but I'm not going to stop trying!"
Despite Mark's best efforts to plead his case, he received four votes along with David. This forced the players into a second round of voting.
But when they both received the same amount of votes again, the game was sent to deadlock. Now, fate lies entirely in the hands of chance, with the final decision set to be revealed in tomorrow's episode. But if social media is anything to go by, there's one name that keeps coming up, and it's not Mark or David.
Viewers are overwhelmingly calling for Traitor Jonathan to be shown the door. The general consensus online is loud and clear: "Get Jonathan out." Unfortunately for fans eager to see that happen, they'll have to wait at least another week - if it happens at all.
