Legendary broadcaster Noel Edmonds' big TV comeback has reportedly been axed after just one season. The three part series, Noel Edmonds Kiwi Adventure, began on ITV at 9pm on June 20 and followed the 76-year-old TV presenter and his wife Liz Davies as they assimilated into their new community and build their new hospitality business River Haven, which boasts a winery, a shop, restaurant, pub, and café on a £15m estate. The couple emigrated to New Zealand following his 2018 appearance on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here. The series drew comparisons to Prime Video's hit Clarkson's Farm, but unlike that show, it won't be getting several seasons.
It is said the cash-strapped broadcaster, which is making cuts across the board after a dip in profits, has no plans to make further episodes as ratings didn't hit the required levels. "It's a blow to Noel as he was convinced he was on to a winning idea," a source said.
"There was a great buzz around the series, and it was well received by both viewers and critics alike.
"But it needed big numbers to spark a follow-up and attracting 1-1.5million per episode just wasn't enough," they told The Sun.
Express.co.uk has contacted ITV and representatives for Noel Edmonds for comment.
Noel had previously enjoyed a decades-long career in primetime entertainment in the UK, presenting some of the nation's most beloved shows.
He has famously fronted Deal or No Deal, The Late, Late Breakfast Show, Top Gear, Swap Shop and Top of the Pops, to name just a few.
Prior to this latest endeavour, his last TV appearance was in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! He was the ITV show's big-name signing for 2018, but he was voted off first.
This is the latest show the network has axed after profits reportedly dropped by 44 per cent to £99 million over the first half of the year, prompting a renewed push to rein in production costs.
They have also implemented cuts across the daytime schedule. Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning, and Loose Women have all reportedly been affected, with hundreds of staff let go in recent months.
