Newcastle United are set to face Fulham at St. James' Park this afternoon, as Eddie Howe's men return to Premier League action after their impressive 3-0 victory over Benfica in midweek.
Currently sitting 14th in the league table, just one point and place ahead of today's opponents, United will be hoping that Nick Woltemade can maintain his prolific scoring streak, having found the back of the net in his last three domestic games.
However, Newcastle have had a tough time against Fulham recently, losing both Premier League matches last season. Ahead of this crucial match, Express Sport brings you all the latest news from St. James' Park....
Woltemade is the talk of the town
Nick Woltemade continues to make waves at Bayern Munich, with fresh reports from Germany indicating that the Bundesliga giants are still interested in signing the towering striker.
Vincent Kompany's team missed out on securing the 23-year-old's signature this summer, having declined to meet Stuttgart's £69m asking price.
Bild reports that the 'Bayern chapter isn't over', suggesting that Woltemade would be open to a move to the Allianz Arena.
However, the report adds that any potential transfer won't take place until at least 2028.
Verdict of guilt delivered
Harvey Barnes has accused Newcastle of failing to finish off matches this season - a shortcoming he believes has been their downfall.
Speaking to NUFC TV, he said: "We've sort of been guilty a little bit this year of not going and getting the second and third goal and killing games off. So against Benfica, it was really pleasing to go and do that.
"You obviously have your responsibilities to help the team defensively but, as an attacking player coming on, it's important to go and help the team push on, go and get the next goals. We've probably not quite hit our heights this season of that free-flowing football, scoring, creating chances. That's what we do at our best, that's what we did last season.
"It's something that we know we're not quite there this season, but we're working on it. You see, against Benfica, when it does work, it really does, and we score goals, we create a lot of chances. So it's just about taking that into the next few games."
Shearer prediction
Alan Shearer has forecasted Newcastle to outgun Fulham in today's match
"I would hope Newcastle can get back to winning ways at home after what happened in midweek and with the options that Eddie Howe's got, as well as the belief," he told Betfair.
"They need to go on a bit of a run in the league, and I would hope that starts this weekend - I'm going to be at the game on Saturday. Newcastle should have too much for Fulham.
"I don't think Fulham will finish 15th, they'll be around about mid-table - they've had a tough start, but let's hope that tough start continues at the weekend."
