and Prince Harry's after their 2018 wedding may be thought of in a positive light by the public, however it seems that the Duchess of Sussex, 43, did not feel the same. Since quitting royal life in 2020, Meghan has criticised certain elements of royal life, however it seems she was also doing this during her royal days.
In October 2018, Meghan and Harry, 40, took a two-week, state-funded trip to Australia in which they carried out 76 royal engagements. While the duchess seemed happy during the tour, royal expert Tina Brown claimed the duchess "hated" every second.
In her book Palace Papers the royal expert wrote: "She apparently hated every second of it. She found the itinerary of engagements "pointless", a former Palace employee told me."
It is also believed that Meghan once for the tour. In the book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, author Valentine Low wrote: "Although she enjoyed the attention, Meghan failed to understand the point of all those walkabouts, shaking hands with countless strangers.
"According to several members of staff, she was heard to say on at least one occasion: 'I can't believe I'm not getting paid for this'."
