Screen icon Joanna Lumley isn't the only talented person in her family. The 79-year-old's only child also forged a career in the creative industries. Unlike his mother he has assuaged the front of camera to work behind it as a photographer and production manager. Jamie, who was born in 1967 when Joanna was just 21 years old, decided on his career path at an early age having made up his mind at just 6-years-old. When he left school he went on to study professional photographic practice at the London College of Printing. He has also branched out into film working as a production manager on films such as The Midnight Sky (2020), Trial & Retribution (1997) and Unfinished Song (2012).
It is possible he gets his passion from his father, photographer Michael Claydon who has also worked as an executive producer. Michael Claydon is known for Hockey: A People's History (2006), The Confidential Series: Blue Jean Confidential (2008) and Who's Sorry Now? (2012). The couple never married Joanna brought Jamie up as a single mother when they split.
Reflecting on this in an interview with The Guardian in 2017, she said: "My parents helped in every possible way, and I cry my eyes out at the women who were made to give up their babies around the same time.
"Because their families wouldn't have them, or they felt they couldn't keep them. And the damage that causes. I'm so lucky that didn't happen to me."
When Jamie was three he gained a famous stepfather in the shape of Jeremy Lloyd who became famous as the co-creator and writer of the sitcoms 'Allo 'Allo! and Are You Being Served?
The pair married in May but split in September the same year, with Jeremy working in the US and Joanna remaining behind in the UK.
According to the BBC, Joanna wrote of her short marriage: "He was witty, tall and charming we should have just had a raging affair."
However she wasn't done with talented men and her current husband Stephen Barlow, whom she married in 1986 is an acclaimed and well known conductor.
Jamie, now 56, has two grown-up daughters of his own, Alice, 21, and Emily, 20, whom he shares with his wife Teresa Gibbs.
In an interview with Northern Echo back in 2018, Joanna described it as "absolute heaven" when her beloved granddaughters come to stay with her.
Jamie Lumley was born on October 16, 1967 in Canterbury, Kent, England, UK.
