I'm a chef and this is why Meghan Markle's second Netflix series will be dull nonsense

Celebrity chef Jameson Stocks has shared his verdict onMeghan Markle's latest Netflix projects, questioning whether the Duchess of Sussex is plotting a genuine royal cooking comeback or simply fighting to keep her place in the spotlight. Meghan, 44, and Prince Harry shut down speculation after it was announced their multi-million-pound deal with Netflix had been renewed.

For weeks, rumours swirled suggesting their partnership was on the brink of collapse. Speaking exclusively to the Daily Express, Jameson gave his take on the Sussexes' future with the streaming giant and the Duchess of Sussex's cooking show.

With Love, Meghan is set to return to the small screen for a second season later this year, along with an upcoming holiday special to be filmed after the second season wraps - but he said the big question is whether this series has the legs to go beyond season two.

Jameson was quick to point out: "The second season was filmed immediately following the first."

Before slamming its viewing ratings, he added: "If Netflix had predicted the first season's poor performance, they probably wouldn't have approved a second. Anyone in the TV industry knows it's more cost-effective to shoot one, two, or even three seasons back-to-back. However, I don't believe there's any real momentum, and the ratings clearly reflect that."

The chef, who has cooked for King Charles, did not hold back. He continued: "Honestly, I would feel embarrassed by the numbers and ratings - for it not to even rank in Netflix's top 300 shows is truly reflective of her apparent star appeal and frankly, embarrassing."

Despite the new lucrative deal being on the table and will earn the pair millions, Netflix allegedly will only fund projects they personally want to bring to the screen, effectively putting them on a "pay per show" arrangement.

While the holiday special will no doubt bring a fresh new look and Christmas-themed instalment, Jameson quipped: "It will just be the same dull nonsense. No amount of money can buy you a real personality, and no amount of money can manipulate people."

Reports have suggested that the special edition is allegedly set to air on the same night and clash with Princess Kate's annual Christmas Carol concert in December.

Jameson admitted that unless Meghan starts to bring A-lister pals and Hollywood guests to stay relevant, she won't get a new season renewed.

He predicted that a talk-show-style series may be on the cards, but "it will only make the program feel more gimmicky, as if relying on star power to boost ratings."

"I don't understand why they don't aim for a more genuine approach, revealing a different, more human side of her instead of the current format. It's difficult for the audience to connect with, which ultimately drives people away," he continued.
