Sarah Ferguson has sparked royal fan fury after eagle-eyed fans noticed that the 66-year-old is still using her Duchess title. While Prince Andrew's ex-wife appeared to update her X account by changing the handle, traces of her former royal styling remain impossible to miss.

The observation comes just days after Buckingham Palace confirmed that Prince Andrew, 65, would no longer use his Duke of York title or royal honours, following discussions with King Charles III. This also affected his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, as she could no longer be known as the Duchess of York either.

Sarah, who was previously known on X under the handle @SarahTheDuchess, changed her username to @SarahMFergie15 yesterday to reflect the change. However, fans were quick to notice that her banner image still prominently displays the title "Sarah, Duchess of York", in a promo picture for her Flora & Fern children's book series.

Outrage erupted across the social networking site after one user wrote: "Today Sarah Ferguson changed her X username to remove Duchess."

However, another user was quick to point out the inconsistency after spotting the photo on her profile page. They replied: "I still see, Sarah, Duchess of York. Am I missing something or are you being facetious?"

This message prompted the response: "It still says that in her banner photo of the book but the actual username is @sarahMFergie15."

But the user wasn't happy with this explanation, writing: "Thanks for the reply, but that's not acceptable. The first thing I saw when going to her page was 'Duchess of York.' So, she's still, in fact, using her title... to sell books. Entitled. Arrogant."

Other users highlighted the picture with the title, and wrote: "She's still using it..."

The scrutiny follows a week of royal turbulence after Andrew relinquished the use of his titles, marking another stage in his withdrawal from public life.

The Palace clarified that while he will retain his princely title by birthright, he will no longer use his Duke of York title or his honours as a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order (GCVO) and Royal Knight Companion of the Order of the Garter.

The decision also applies to Sarah Ferguson, who has used the title "Duchess of York" for more than three decades, even after her 1996 divorce from Prince Andrew.

While her official handle has been updated, the continued use of the Duchess title in her promotional banner has reignited debate over whether Sarah is truly letting go of her royal styling.

Meanwhile, King Charles is facing renewed pressure to go further and remove Prince Andrew's "Prince" title, following the decision to strip him of his dukedom.

The brother of Virginia Giuffre who has accused Andrew of sexual assault claims, which the royal has consistently denied, has publicly urged the Royal Family to take additional action -arguing that he should lose his remaining title once and for all.
