A collection of ultra-rare F1 memorabilia is going up for auction at a combined price of £1.3million, and fans can even purchase a number of relative bargains from legends such as Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton. The memorabilia composition, which is being auctioned in Tegernsee, Germany, by RM Sotheby's, comprises 280 different items.

A company spokesperson said: "An all-new online-only auction has been announced that will feature hundreds of pieces of sporting memorabilia from the likes of Formula One World Champions Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, and Lewis Hamilton. 'The Champions - Schumacher and F1 Legends' will open for bidding on 24 July, with lots closing between 29 and 30 July, and will feature more than 280 unique pieces offered entirely without reserve. The varied sale will include everything from race-worn helmets and race suits to pieces of bodywork from historic competition cars."

Included at the top end of the collection are a smattering of Schumacher's signed racing suits. The most expensive is the 1997 design, which is expected to fetch a minimum of £25,600 (€30,000).

Some of Hamilton's race suits are also being listed, with a signed 2023 edition set to fetch £12,800 (€15,000). One of the seven-time world champion's McLaren suits from 2011 is also listed at the same price, as is one from his debut campaign in 2007, in which he narrowly missed out on a remarkable Drivers' Championship title.

For those looking for cheaper Hamilton memorabilia, there are alternative options. The Brit's racing signed racing boots from 2014 are up for sale starting at £3,400 (€4,000), with a non-signed pair from 2023 also available at that price point.

Alternatively, the 40-year-old's signed racing gloves from 2024 are going up for sale, and the auction starts at just £2,500 (€3,000). If you're a fan of a legendary F1 driver other than Hamilton and Schumacher, there are plenty of items to cater for you in the 280-strong collection.

Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc are all part of the collection, with race suits and boots available, while three-time world champion Ayrton Senna's signed balaclavas and Nomex shirts are available to purchase for handsome fees.

If you're entering the auction on a shoestring budget, there are still items for you. Schumacher's signed Ferrari water bottle is going up for sale at a starting price of just £42 (€50), while Hamilton's podium cap and signed champagne bottle from the 2021 British Grand Prix are also available at a steal.
