Desperate hunt for mum and son, 2, as cops urge 'ring 999'

Concern is growing for the welfare of a missing mum and her two-year-old son. The pair vanished on Wednesday (October 29) and police have launched an urgent search to find them.

Kara, 26, and her son Drew were last seen in the Smiths Wood area of Solihull in the West Midlands. However, they have not been heard from since and an appeal has been launched to locate them. Police are urging anyone who spots the pair to call 999 immediately. Officers have released pictures of them to help the public search.

Kara is described as mixed race and is around 5ft 4ins tall She has long dyed blonde hair and a nose ring.

Birmingham Police said in a public appeal on Facebook: "Have you seen Kara and her two-year-old son Drew?

"We need to find the mother and son who are from the Smiths Wood area of Solihull. Kara, aged 26, is described as being mixed race, around 5ft 4ins tall with long dyed blonde hair.

"She also wears a nose ring. If you see them ring 999 quoting log number 5715 of 29 October."

It comes days after a woman was reported missing after leaving a pub in Chatham. She was last seen at around 8.45pm on October 24 and police launched an urgent appeal for information on her whereabouts.

The woman has since been located safely and the force thanked the public for sharing their appeal. A spokesman confirmed: "A 28 year old woman reported missing from Chatham since Friday 24 October 2025 has been found safe and well."

At the end of September, a young mother "in a vulnerable state of mind" disappeared after leaving her home in Manchester. Paige Kelly, 27, was last seen on Tuesday, September 23.

Her aunt Kate has said the family is "extremely concerned for her welfare" with them being "petrified that something could have happened to her".
