Reaching into your wardrobe for a piece of clothing you had planned on wearing only to find it's gone all wrinkled often happens at the most inconvenient of times. It can be particularly troublesome when you're travelling and don't have an iron to hand to smooth out creases, and even if you do have an iron, it's a chore dreaded by many.

Wrinkled and creased clothes can appear unsightly, but there's plenty of ways to keep clothes neat without having to get the iron out, and you can even try adding ice to your tumble dryer to keep clothes crease-free. But if your clothes have already dried, one expert has shared a method for removing wrinkles that doesn't even require hunting down an iron and steaming them.

Home organisation expert @Neat.Carlonine has over 300,000 followers on TikTok where she shares her tips for keeping your home and belongings in order.

In a recent video, she revealed that using a spray water bottle can remove creases from clothes, even after washing and drying. Instructing viewers to simply fill a spray bottle with water, she advised that the continuous mist models will work best for the job.

Sharing her clever trick with followers that forgoes the need for an iron, or even using any heat and electrcity, one TikTok user commented on the video and said: "Great tip! I'll try as soon as possible!"

Simply mist your item of clothing from top to bottom, stretching and shaking out the wrinkles. Using a mist spray will also stop clothes from getting too damp, and leave you having to wait for them to dry.

Water works effectively on creases as it allows fibers to relax, meaning you can undo any odd shapes that might have appeared from it being folded up for too long, essentially releasing any wrinkles.

For clothes that might need a bit more attention, Southern Living recommends adding a teaspoon of liquid fabric softener and a tablespoon of white vinegar to help smooth more stubborn creases.
