Parks and Recreation star Chris Pratt has paid tribute to his late co-star by a neighbour. The San Antonio Police Department in Texas claimed the 59-year-old King of the Holl star got into a heated row with a neighbour on the city's south side over the weekend before he was fatally shot.

Law enforcement told that the neighbour pulled out a gun during the argument and shot Joss several times before fleeing in a car, with the police arresting him just one block away from the residence. A man called Sigfredo Alvarez-Cago was arrested and charged with the murder of the horrific shooting. Authorities released a statement at the time, which read: "Officers were dispatched to the location for a Shooting in Progress.

"Once the officers arrived at the location, the victim was found near the roadway of the location. The officers attempted life saving measures until EMS arrived. EMS pronounced the victim deceased. Officers located the suspect who sot the victim and detained him.

"The suspect was transported to Headquarters for further investigation and then booked for murder. The investigation is still ongoing."

After the news of his passing hit headlines, Parks and Rec star Chris took to his Instagram Stories to share a screengrab of the heartbreaking news.

He captioned the post: "Damn, RIP Jonathan. Always such a kind dude. He played Ken Hotate in Parks and was always in Mag 7. Sad to see. Prayers up. Hug your loved ones (sic)."

Fans also paid tribute to the late actor online, with one writing on social media: "This is absolutely devastating news. Jonathan Joss was such a talented actor, and is iconic roles brought so much joy to so many. What a tragic loss."

Another devastated fan commented: "It absolutely shatters my heart to learn of the passing of Jonathan Joss, known and loved by many fans as the voice, heart, spirit, and soul of the character John Redcorn. He made a point to be involved in the fandom and was so kind to all of us. He will never be forgotten!"

Joss' husband, Tristan ern de Gonzales, released a statement on the actor's official Facebook page claiming the argument began when the couple were checking the mail "At the site of our former home".

He went on: "When the man fired, Jonathan pushed me out of the way. He saved my life. Jonathan is my husband. He gave me more love in our time together than most people ever get. We were newlyweds.

"We picked Valentine's Day. We were in the process of looking for a trailer and planning our future," before adding that he was with Joss when he passed and "told him how much he was loved".
