Locals in have been urged to avoid areas in the UK seaside as emergency services closed off streets due to an ongoing "incident". Lancashire have said that a man climbed onto a building's roof after being arrested for assault and then escaping from officers. The man is thought to have climbed onto the roof of the Houndshill Shopping Centre.
Police have stated that the road closures are expected to last 'for some time' as they assess the situation. Roads around Victoria Street, Coronation Street, and the Houndshill Shopping Centre area have been closed off, and authorities have advised the public to avoid the area.
