Beyond Paradise fans fear for beloved character after worrying discovery

Send Push

Beyond Paradise fans were left feeling concerned for a beloved character after they made a worrying discovery on Friday (April 11).

The beloved crime drama made its anticipated return to BBC One last month, with DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and DS Esther Williams (Zahra Ahmadi) solving more bizarre mysteries.

Tonight's episode saw local chocolatier Gabriella Dalmori (Alicia Charles) fall under suspicion when three customers were poisoned after sampling her new products. Humphrey soon explored every avenue to determine whether she orchestrated the attack or if she was framed.

The mystery soon deepened when the Shipton Abbott team found no trace of poison in the remaining chocolates, so they were left to wonder how the perpetrator ensured the victims ate the right one.

When public panic began spreading across the town, the detectives had to work swiftly to uncover the real culprit.

Meanwhile, Anne Lloyd (Barbara Flynn) secretly visited Dr Hodges (Syreeta Kumar) after finding an unusual mole on her back during last week's episode.

"I hate to take up your time when you've got people with real problems to see," Anne said during her appointment. "I'm sure it's a fuss about nothing."

The GP then explained that she was glad that Anne had got it checked out, and quickly ordered a biopsy at the hospital for the following day.

A worried Anne thought that her recent holidays in the sun could have contributed to the mole, but Dr Hodges urged her not to "jump to conclusions" before the test results came back.

Anne decided not to tell her daughter Martha (Sally Bretton) about her health scare as she didn't want to put her through more worry following the death of her father.

"I'm saying this to you as your friend. Asking for help is not a weakness, it's a strength," Dr Hodges said, with Anne adding: "Oh don't worry about me. Despite appearances, I'm a tough old bird really."

After watching the tender scenes, legions of Beyond Paradise fans quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their concern for Anne as she awaits the results of her biopsy.

"Anne had better not be sick," one person wrote, with another adding: "I hope Anne is okay! She needs to speak to Martha."

A third said: "Someone give Anne a hug," with another similarly sharing: "I was wondering why Anne wasn't telling Martha."
