Andy Murray trolls Carlos Alcaraz in cheeky message after Wimbledon win

Carlos Alcaraz might have surged through to the second week of Wimbledon, but according to Andy Murray, the Spaniard hasn't had it all his own way on the golf course. The second seed booked his place in the last-16 on Friday, beating JL Struff in four sets.

However, it wasn't tennis that was the subject of his post-match interview. Speaking to Annabel Croft, the pair drew cheers from the Centre Court crowd when they referenced Alcaraz playing golf with the Scot before the tournament began at SW19. The 22-year-old smiled when asked by the BBC presenter about how the clash went.

"He said to you to ask this question, right?" replied Alcaraz. "He beat me that day. But then a few days later we played again and I beat him. So it's 1-1."

Croft wasn't about to let the issue lie there, adding: "Any plans to play again later in the tournament?" Despite the star being in the midst of a Grand Slam tournament, he didn't back down, saying: "Let's see.

"I love playing golf on my days off. I know he has a busy schedule, so I will try to set up a golf round again. Nine holes and see who wins. We are tied 1-1, so yeah, we have to play again."

That deciding match seemingly took place less than 24 hours later. On Saturday, Murray shared the video of the interview on X and implied he'd beaten the five-time Grand Slam champion.

"We played the deciding match this afternoon," he wrote. "Maybe ask him what happened after the next match." He added a wink emoji for good measure, with former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen among those to reply favourably.

However, Alcaraz will be expected to come out on top today when he returns to the tennis court. He faces 14th seed Andre Rublev for a place in the quarter-finals as he bids for a third straight crown at SW19.
