Mumbai: Known for her bold on-screen roles, actress Tanushree Dutta had grabbed headlines after making sexual harassment allegations against Nana Patekar during the #MeToo movement in 2018.
The actress, who seems to be controversy’s favourite child, has now claimed that she was offered Rs 1.65 crore to participate in the Salman Khan-hosted reality show ‘Bigg Boss 19’.
However, she turned down the offer as she is not so cheap to participate in a show where men and women sleep together on the same bed.
“I have been refusing to participate in Bigg Boss for the last 11 years. They get after my life to participate in the show every year. I scold them every year. I can’t stay in a place like that. I don’t even stay with my family; we all have our own space,” Tanushree told Bollywood Thikana.
“They have offered me Rs 1.65 crore to participate in the show because they had given the same amount to another Bollywood celebrity, she was of my level-actor also. A stylist who is part of Bigg Boss management even said that they can offer more money, but I refused.”
“Even if they offer me the moon, I won’t go. Men and women sleeping on the same bed, fighting in the same place, I can’t do that. I am also very specific about my diet. How can they even think that I am the kind of a girl who will sleep with a guy on the same bed for a reality show? I am not so cheap, it doesn’t matter how many crores they give me,” she added.
After winning the Femina Miss India Universe title in 2004, Tanushree made her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’, along with Emraan Hashmi in 2005.
She also starred in films such as ‘Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets’(2025), ‘Bhagam Bhag’ (2006), ‘Risk’ (2007), and ‘Good Boy, Bad Boy’ (2007).
‘Bigg Boss 19’ streams every day on JioHotstar at 9 pm, and on Colors TV at 10.30 pm.
The contestants in the Bigg Boss house include Gaurav Khanna, Amaal Mallik, Awez Darbar, Ashnoor Kaur, Mridul Tiwari, Nagma Mirajkar, Baseer Ali, Abhishek Bajaj, Tanya Mittal, Zeishan Quadri, Nehal Chudasama, Natalia Janoszek, Pranit More, Farhana Bhatt, and Neelam Giri.
Last week, contestants Nagma Mirajkar and Natalia Janoszek were evicted.
