'Bhoot' was shot in a flat. For this, Ram Gopal Varma initially thought of making the film in a different way, but later he understood that there should be a unique story for horror. When a flat was searched for shooting, about 9 flat owners refused to shoot after knowing about the horror genre.

Finally, the 10th flat owner gave permission. But when the film was released, news came from Delhi that a man's body was found in a cinema hall after the screening of the film. The police investigated and found that the 50-year-old man had no injury marks on his body. However, it could not be proved that his death had any connection with the film. But the news became a great marketing aid for the film and encouraged the audience to watch it.

Film effect and flat loss

Bhoot proved to be a hit film, but the flat owner had to suffer a huge loss due to it. After the shooting of the film, no one could dare to live in that flat. It so happened that even today that flat is lying vacant. The builder told the film team that "You people have ruined me."

'Bhoot' is still considered one of the scariest films of Hindi cinema. This is a film which scares the audience even today when it is seen. Surprisingly, many horror films came after this film, but 'Bhoot' became a milestone in its place and was included in the list of the best films of Hindi cinema. 'Bhoot' was not only a horror film, but it gave a new direction to the horror genre in Indian cinema.
