The case of Etawah's storytellers is currently in the news in the country. Mukut Mani Yadav and Sant Singh Yadav, who belong to the Yadav caste, have accused their Brahmin host of assaulting and insulting them on the basis of caste. After this, the debate has intensified in the country as to which caste has the right to recite the story. People's opinion is divided on this subject. On one hand, an organization like Kashi Vidvat Parishad says that all Hindus have the right to narrate the Bhagwat Katha. On the other hand, Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati says that a person of any caste can narrate the Bhagwat Katha to people of his caste, but only Brahmins have the right to narrate the Bhagwat Katha to all castes.

Devkinandan Thakur: He is a resident of Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. He was born in a Brahmin family.

Bageshwar Dham Sarkar: Born in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri is popularly known as Bageshwar Dham Sarkar. Bageshwar Dham Sarkar was also born in a Brahmin family.

Pradeep Mishra: Pandit Pradeep Mishra, who narrates the story of Shiv Puran, is a resident of Sehore in Madhya Pradesh. He was born in a Brahmin family. He is the chief priest of Kubereshwar Dham in Sehore.

Sant Rampal Ji: Born in a farmer family of Dhanana village in Sonipat district of Haryana, Sant Rampal belongs to the Jat caste.

Bhole Baba alias Narayan Saakar Hari alias Surajpal: His real name is Suraj Pal. He was born in a Dalit family of Patiyali village in Etah district of Uttar Pradesh.

Baba Ramdev: His real name is Ramkishan Yadav. Baba Ramdev was born in yadav family of sayedpur village of mahendragarh district of Haryana

Morari Bapu: Morari Bapu has been narrating Ram Katha since his youth. He has so far narrated Ram Katha at more than 800 places in India and abroad. Morari Bapu belongs to Other Backward Class.

Jaya Kishori: She was born in a Brahmin family of Sujangarh, Rajasthan. She is famous for telling religious stories.

Goddess Chitralekha: Goddess Chitralekha, who narrates the story of Bhagavata Purana, was born in a Brahmin family of Khambhi village in Palwal district of Haryana.
