After the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the thrill of IPL will start once again from May 17. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the schedule of the remaining matches of the season and instructed the franchises to gather all their players. However, some foreign players have expressed their unavailability for the remaining season. In such a situation, IPL has decided to give relief to the teams.

Teams got permission to temporarily add alternate players.

BCCI has permitted the teams to temporarily add alternate players for the remaining matches of the IPL. Some foreign players are unavailable for the upcoming matches. According to the original schedule, the final of the IPL was to be held on May 25, but now it will be on June 3, which will make it difficult for the players joining the national team to play in it.

The IPL gave time to the teams

Some players are not returning due to personal reasons, while players like Jamie Overton, who represents Chennai Super Kings in the current season, will remain in Britain for the limited-overs series against West Indies at home.

According to the information received from IPL, PTI said, 'We had to temporarily suspend IPL 2025, as a result of which it has to be completed after the pre-determined date of 25 May 2025, so we have re-evaluated the provisions related to the alternate player. Given the unavailability of some foreign players due to national commitments or personal reasons or any injury or illness, temporary alternate players will be allowed to be selected till the conclusion of this tournament.'

IPL further said, 'This decision is subject to the condition that temporary alternate players taken from this point forward will not be eligible to be retained in the next year.'
