There are many kinds of pain in the world. Some pains last a lifetime and some pains give pleasure even when they occur. This latter kind of pain is also called sweet pain. Your bike can also experience this kind of pain. Don't be surprised, a bike is a machine, and it does not feel pain like humans. But sweets can definitely cause problems. So what is it that is sweet, and can cause problems for your bike? Let's find out.
Just imagine, one morning you try to start your bike, but it does not start. You are surprised and try to start it again and again, but to no avail. Later you come to know that the naughty child of your house had put sugar in the petrol tank of your bike.
If sugar is put in the petrol tank of a bike, the engine can get damaged. This is a common belief that is spread among many people. But can this really happen? Let us know how big a threat sugar can pose to your bike, and what damage it can cause if it goes into the fuel tank.
sugar and petrol
Petrol is a liquid that is needed to run the engine. What happens when we mix sugar with petrol?
- Sugar dissolves in water but does not dissolve in petrol. When we put sugar in petrol, it does not dissolve but settles at the bottom of the tank.
- When the engine runs, it sends petrol to the injector through the fuel pump. On reaching the injector, sugar particles can clog the fuel filter.
- When the fuel filter gets clogged, the engine does not get the full amount of petrol. This increases the chances of engine damage.
- Sugar particles can also damage other parts of the engine.
The bike's engine will not start due to sugar. Apart from this, the engine can also get damaged. If sugar accidentally goes into the fuel tank of your bike, show it to a good mechanic. If there is a problem, it would be better to change the fuel filter.
