CBSE News: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is now going to make major changes to study and exam methods that are very important for children to know. Under new education policy (NEP) 2020, board to launch a new online platform. It'll assess how much students understand subjects and how they can apply that knowledge in real life. Initiative aims to take students out of rote learning habit and equip them with 21st-century must-have skills and practical knowledge.
Exam will now be considered an important part of studies under CBSE's new scheme, not just an intimidating last step. According to New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, it's necessary to change the way of assessment. Under this, the board is working on a plan to start a new platform through which special examinations of students of classes 3, 5 and 8 will be taken.
What is the purpose of SAFAL?
This exam's called SAFAL (Structured Assessment for Analyzing Learning). It's intended to test children's basic understanding, ability to reason, and thinking power. It'll let schools know what subjects kids need more help with.
More importance given to science, mathematics and English
According to the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), the purpose of the exam should be to increase children's understanding and learning ability, not just test memorability. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is continuously working in this direction. Board has implemented competency-based exam framework (Competency-Based Assessment Framework) for grades 6 through 10. Students' ability to think, understand and solve problems is addressed in this new system. In this, especially subjects like science, mathematics and English have been given more importance, so that children can understand the subject deeply.
