Meryl Streep has sent fans wild as she was spotted in the front row at the Dolce & Gabbana show during Milan Fashion Week - while still in character as Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada.
She was seen alongside her co-star Stanley Tucci, who was also in character as Nigel, the long-suffering art director to Meryl's hellish magazine editor. The pair are in the middle of filming scenes for the hotly anticipated The Devil Wears Prada 2.
When Meryl attended the Dolce & Gabbana show, her hair was styled in Miranda's signature pixie cut and she wore a trendy tan coat, cinched with a leopard print belt and styled with yellow-framed sunglasses. The 76-year-old actress walked onto the stage to get to her seat and ignored the screams and claps of the crowd.

In 2006, The Devil Wears Prada was released. Starring Anne Hathaway as Andi, a reluctant assistant to the editor at fictional fashion magazine Runway, the film explored the dynamics between a young woman and her nightmare boss. Meryl played the boss in question - Miranda Priestly, whose treatment of her assistants is borderline abusive.
The film was based on a bestselling novel of the same name by Lauren Weisberger. The Devil Wears Prada 2, which will be released in 2026, is based on another of Lauren's novels, Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns.

In the book, Andi and Miranda meet again ten years after the events of the first book, with Andi now the editor of bridal magazine and in the middle of planning her own wedding.

Meryl, Stanley and Anne have all been confirmed to return for the sequel, as has Emily Blunt. Emily played Emily Charlton, Andi's workplace rival and the other of Miranda's two assistants who pushes herself to the limit to impress her boss.
Some reports have suggested that Emily's character will make a comeback to help Miranda with a struggling magazine. Plot details have not revealed, but fans think Miranda will run into several issues as she tries to keep a print magazine afloat in a digital age, and will turn to Emily for help, as the latter is thought to now be an executive at a luxury clothing company.
Emily Charlton is thought to be based off of former Vogue writer Victoria 'Plum' Sykes, though the journalist has emphatically denied that.
Meanwhile, fans are convinced Miranda was inspired by Vogue's former editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Anna announced she would be stepping down from her position this year, and has been replaced by Chloe Malle.
The original Devil Wears Prada film was a smash hit. When the sequel hits theatres, it will be celebrating the film's 20th anniversary. The first film earned two Oscar nominations, including a best actress one for Meryl Streep. Meryl also won the Golden Globe for best actress in a motion picture musical or comedy.
