A young woman said she was horrified after a passenger on her Ryanair flight took off their shoes and put their feet under hers.
Sophie, 27, was on a flight from Manchester to Fuerteventura last week, on Tuesday, August 19, when she began to notice an unpleasant smell lingering an hour or so into her flight.
She said she looked down and was horrified to see the passenger seated behind her was poking his feet into her footwell while wearing no shoes. Sophie felt too awkward to say anything and so claims that she resorted to purposely standing on the man's feet in a desperate attempt to get him to move.

A TikTokvideo captured the moment Sophie's footwell was invaded on a Ryanair flight, showing the man's foot wearing a white sock poking into her space. The young passenger claims to have been subjected to a 'stench' for around half of the flight's duration, on what was a four-hour flight.
Despite being tempted, Sophie said that she chose not to confront him out of fears that the conversation would be 'embarrassing'. According to her, they smelt so bad that she believes the man knew and was even pushing them under her seat so he didn't have to smell them himself.
The charity worker explained that while she doesn't have an issue with people choosing to take off their shoes on a flight, having done so herself in the past, she thinks they should "make sure they're clean". She recalled the moment it happened, saying: "About an hour into the flight I could smell something, and the smell kept getting worse.

"I knew it wasn't me because I didn't have my shoes off, and my feet don't smell like that. The girl next to me clocked it at some point as well, and we were like, 'Where is it coming from?' I looked under my chair, and I could see his feet on my part of the chair."
Sophie continued to explain: "The smell was strongest when his feet were on my part of the chair. He'd extended his legs under the chair, and the smell would go when he moved his feet back. It smelt unclean, like cheese. Like at the gym, when you're sweating.
"I don't really know how to explain it – just like when someone has got dirty feet, like a cheesy smell. I started standing on his feet to get him to move his feet back instead of waiting for him to move them himself. He did do that when I stood on them."
After desperate attempts to get him to move his feet back into his own footwell, Sophie admits that it made the flight "uncomfortable" and "annoying" for her. Since sharing her story on TikTok, the video has quickly racked up over 2,300 views with plenty of comments.
