A fresh batch of Helldivers are set to join the game as it makes a significant debut on Xbox, and Arrowhead Game Studios has grand plans for them if they're keen on grabbing its Super Citizen Edition.
Helldivers 2 is about to make a massive splash. Fans are preparing for the official Helldivers 2 Xbox launch, anticipated to attract a host of new players through its default cross-play feature and escalate the battle against the Illuminate. It's a thrilling time for gamers across all platforms, especially with the imminent arrival of the Helldivers 2 Halo ODST Warbond in-game, marking an ideal crossover, albeit at a slightly higher cost.
However, some players have expressed disappointment when purchasing the game's Super Citizen Edition, as part of its package offered the chance to acquire the Steeled Veterans Warbond, a somewhat dated collection of items that has been surpassed by more innovative, exciting gear. There's a wealth of collectables in the game, but this has increasingly felt like shovelware to players.
Arrowhead Game Studios appears to have a solution to this issue, introducing the non-transferrable Warbond Token – but what exactly is it? And when will it be added to the game? Here's everything you need to know about the new Helldivers 2 Warbond Tokens.

Helldivers 2 Warbond Tokens explainedThe Helldivers 2 Warbond Tokens are set to replace the Steeled Veterans Warbond in the Helldivers 2 Super Citizen Edition or Citizen Edition Upgrade, in a move designed to prevent players from doubling their warbonds by purchasing the upgrade after already buying Steeled Veterans. The feature allows players to redeem a Warbond of their choice without spending any in-game currency.
Arrowhead revealed in a recent Steam post that this new feature will be added to the game editions on Tuesday, August 26. Players will receive the Warbond Token credited to their accounts, allowing them to 'claim Premium Warbond' instead of having to 'Buy Premium Warbond'.
Players planning to purchase the Super Citizen Edition or upgrade have been advised by Arrowhead to wait until the date of this change, particularly if they already own the Steeled Veterans Warbond. This is because they will then have the chance to select any collection of items they prefer. The blog post doesn't mention whether this still applies to the Halo ODST Warbond, which is pricier than its counterparts, but with no reference made, it's safe to assume that it probably does.
This thoughtful addition ensures that the game's upgrade remains appealing and relevant to players, especially given that the Steeled Veterans Warbond is now considered an old cosmetic collection. If we were in your shoes, we'd hold off and cash in on the upcoming expensive Warbond for extra value.
