If Gianni Infantino ever thought Donald Trump may do as he tells him, he was handed a reality check as Chelsea celebrated winning the FIFA Club World Cup.
The US President attended Sunday night's final as the Blues thrashed PSG 3-0 at MetLife Stadium. Cole Palmer scored twice and Joao Pedro also netted for Enzo Maresca's men as they stunned the European champions.
Trump was on hand to join Infantino on the field - booed by some sections of the fans in attendance - to present medals to Chelsea and PSG players. After that was done, it was Trump's job to hand over the trophy to Chelsea skipper Reece James to kick off the celebrations.
However, James seemed momentarily baffled as he prepared to hoist the trophy, with Trump lingering by his side. And while Infantino then appeared to instruct Trump to follow him and move aside so Chelsea could enjoy their moment of triumph, the 79-year-old ignored his suggestion, stayed put and took centre stage.
It was only when the Chelsea players surged forward that Trump and Infantino receded into the background, leaving behind a delighted Trump amidst the players. James, Enzo Fernandez and Robert Sanchez couldn't hide how hilarious they found the situation.

Chelsea's celebrations came shortly after tempers boiled over at full-time, as a brawl saw players and management teams from both clubs involved. PSG boss Luis Enrique struck Joao Pedro, leaving the Brazilian on the floor.
Enrique was dragged away by security and injured PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe while Enzo Maresca was soon seen talking to Gianluigi Donnarumma having confronted the PSG boss.
This incident was just one of several heated moments at the end of the match, with both teams' players and coaching staff trying to confront each other.
Eventually, Chelsea's players were guided away by Maresca to celebrate their victory with their supporters, before ascending the platform to hoist the trophy.
Maresca was thrilled with what he had seen from his players. He said: “No words for the players. They deserve [this]. It’s a good moment.
“For me, we won the game in the first 10 minutes. In the first 10 minutes, we set the tempo, we set the way we wanted to play. We were very good. Unfortunately with the weather conditions, it is not easy to continue for 90 minutes, but I think we won the game in the first 10 minutes.”
Asked how excited he was ahead of the new season, Maresca added: “Yes, very excited, but a bit more excited that we have three weeks off now.”
