Set against the backdrop of urgent issues like climate change, sustainable living, well-being, and the decline of wildlife, the renowned event continues to evolve. Yet, barely having begun, Carol's weather update experienced a technical hitch.
Jon set the scene mentioning: "The King and Queen are going to visit the RHS Chelsea Flower Show today, and among all the plants and trees, there will be a bit more bark than usual," reports .
Adding detail, Sarah said: "The names of the Queen's new puppy, Bluebell, and Beth, who died last year, will be featured in Chelsea's first-ever dog-friendly garden. It has been designed by Monty Don. It also features the name of the King's dog, Snuff."
Bringing Carol into the spotlight, Jon added: "Carol is there for us this morning at the Chelsea flower show, and we'll get a sneak peek, I think, of the dog garden later."
In a humorous turn of events, as the studio and at-home audience eagerly awaited Carol's appearance on screen, they were met with a blank display and loss of audio.
To alleviate the awkward silence, Jon joked: "Oh, that is a really dark garden she has gone to," prompting laughter in the studio while Sarah added her quip, "Or the night garden."
Carol briefly resurfaced on screen, but before she could begin her report, the screen blacked out again, cutting her off mid-speech. This prompted a surprised reaction from Sarah who blurted out: "Oh no."
Jon quickly chimed in with a lighthearted comment: "I was looking for bright flowers, sunshine, and a garden of life, but all we got was that."
Sarah offered reassurance to the viewers, stating: "I'm sure once we've got the technical working, we will be straight back to Carol because we all want to see what's going on at the Chelsea show."
Jon followed up with, "Because she's got insight on this first press day," and then asked Sarah about the event's schedule to which Sarah replied: "It opens to the public tomorrow, and today is all the journalists and celebs. Very exciting."
Eventually, normal service resumed, and Jon happily declared: "We've fed and watered our technical equipment at the Chelsea flower show, and Carol is blooming again."
The camera then switched to Carol, who was able to present her segment without any further interruptions.
