Pakistan, enraged by Operation Sindoor, tried to attack 15 cities of India, which was foiled by India's strong air defense system.India achieved this success by using the S-400 air defense system. India also has many other air defense systems that are capable of dealing with enemy aircraft, missiles and drone attacks.

Jagran Desk, New Delhi. Pakistan, enraged by India's retaliatory action Operation Sindoor against the Pahalgam terror attack, attacked 15 cities of India on Wednesday night, but India's strong air defense system foiled all these attacks. India has done this feat with its S 400 air defense system. Let us know which air defense systems India has and what are their capabilities?
The mighty S-400
You can also understand the S-400 air defense missile system in this way that it is not a weapon but a mighty one. No one can plot against it. It destroys the attacking planes, missiles and drones coming from the sky in a moment. India had bought this defense system from Russia keeping in mind the threat from China and Pakistan.
America had also threatened to ban India from buying S 400 system from Russia but India did not care about it. India had made a deal to buy five units of S 400 for Rs 39,000 crore. India has already received three units from Russia and the supply of the remaining two units is pending.
Features of S-400
The S-400 is capable of dealing with air attacks from missiles, aircraft or drones. It is capable of operating in temperatures ranging from -50 to 70 degrees Celsius. Being mounted on a truck, it is easy to move it from one place to another.
How powerful is the S-400?
With a speed of 4800 meters per second, it can destroy targets flying at a range of 100 kilometers and at an altitude of up to 40,000 feet. The S-200 was manufactured in 1967 and the S-300 in 1978. The S-400 was manufactured because during the Cold War, there was a competition between the US and Russia, which started in 1999, to make lethal weapons and missiles. This is why the S-400 was tested when Russia made such an air defense system in 2007 that can destroy US missiles before they reach Russia.
